Many homes in Kansas City are filled with memories that span generations. At Family Shepherd, we are passionate about preserving family traditions and memories, which is why we highlight one special tradition or memory from each home we buy. Every family has items that evoke cherished moments spent with loved ones, and we find joy in learning about these treasures.
One particularly interesting story comes from Paul, a homeowner who had a unique piece from his family’s medical practice. As a child, Paul would visit the practice and remember hearing calming music playing from this radio in the waiting room. This vintage radio has a lot of character—not just because of the memories attached to it, but also because of its technical features. It includes a separate subwoofer and even has an auxiliary jack, allowing for connection to a record player. The radio still works perfectly, and if you'd like to see it in person, it's displayed in our office at Bridge Space, 210 SW Market Street, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. Feel free to stop by or visit bridgespace.us for more information.
We love hearing stories from the families we work with and feel honored to play a small role in preserving their memories. When we purchase a home, we make every effort to repurpose as much as possible. In fact, around 75% of the items we repurpose are donated to families in need through the social organizations we support in the Kansas City metro area. This approach brings a sense of peace to homeowners, knowing that their belongings aren’t going to waste but are instead helping another family start a new chapter.
We believe that by preserving both homes and memories, we can honor the past while contributing to the future of families in need across Kansas City.
